The Elmore Bolling Initiative
C/O Brenda Adams, Treasurer
PO Box 83
Lowndesboro, AL 36752
Thank you for your support of truth-telling and making amends in “Bloody Lowndes,” an American community that still pays the price for more than a century of white supremacy violence and erasure of Black history.
The Elmore Bolling Initiative is a 501(c)3 corporation.
All donations are tax-deductible.
Tax ID: 35-2333112
Your contributions to The Elmore Bolling Initiative* directly support our work to create historic sites—including the Lowndesboro School—that acknowledge the efforts and achievements of Black people throughout Lowndes County, filling a gap in the narrative now told here, and our education and community support programs for today’s Lowndes County citizens.
We honor the legacy of Elmore Bolling, an industrious man whose ingenuity and keen business sense earned him a comfortable living and drove him to uplift his community both with good-paying jobs and philanthropy. His life was cut short at age 39 by a group of white men, enraged that Elmore was “too prosperous as a Negro.” No criminal investigation or indictments followed Elmore Bolling’s murder.
